I spy with my little eye... Fun with Jimmy Choo!

Yesterday I was invited to Cabana at the Jimmy Choo cruise collection 2013. I loved the very blue setting and inviting pool. The team was adorable, and it was much drinking Smurfs and catching up with the other bloggers in style! Thank you Jimmy Choo!

I spy with my little eye... Photographs.

Remember that post? Well I got the photos from the Bloggers day at Garderobe!
I was wearing a Blumarine Cocktail Dress, Jimmy Choo nude sandals... and obviously having a blast! Lots of laughter thanks to Garderobe team, the brilliant Photographers, Mikyajy make up artists and the good crowd of Fashion Bloggers!

I spy with my little eye... Flowers!

It's my lucky day, got Flowers delivered today. Very thankful!

I spy with my little eye... a Caviar Manicure.

I got offered a free caviar manicure from The Doll House. I usually do my nails myself, but I thought I would give it a go, try something new.
So I discovered The Doll House (at the Dubai ladies Club)... probably the cutest, girliest and pinkiest place to get pampered in Dubai! Loved the abundance of nailpolishes, the plasma screen showing a good movie and the ipad instead of the magazines: best idea ever!
The whole process of the Caviar Manicure is quite long and requires a lot of attention to details. The beads stick to the nailpolish, but you need to tidy them a little bit. I went for a simple black and have to say I did like the result. It's nice for a change.
That being said, I am never doing it again: it didn't last for more than 24 hours (bye bye beads), and taking it off my hands was a pure nightmare.
But I discovered a nice place to get pampered, so The Doll House, yes, Caviar Manicure, no!

A few days ago I was invited to a Dinner party in one of the coolest flats in Dubai... Just wanted to share that joyful picture. Happy Monday everybody! Thank you M.!

Sorry for being absent for the past 10 days: I've been busy, but I have missed you! So to get back on the saddle, come say hi this evening at the XVA Gallery for their now famous "Affordable Night". All artworks on display will be priced at 4000 aed or less, and cover a wide range of mediums; such as photography, oil on canvas, mixed media works and sculpture. It's time to get on with the Christmas Shopping! Who wouldn't love to find a vintage Pakistani film poster under the Christmas Tree?
And as a bonus, the XVA is happy to introduce you to Immadaoun, their in-house tailor, anyone needs a new outfit for the festive Season?

I spy with my little eye... a Pink Fudge Lunch!

A big Merci to the lovely Pink Fudge girl, for organising this beautiful bloggers lunch, such a pleasure to meet them, they are as sweet and colourful as their luxury treasures! A big thank you to Okku for hosting us, beautiful Food, people, go!
I had a great time meeting those two entrepreneur Ladies, catching up with the bloggers and discussing colours, trends, culture and art. I spy with my little eye... beautiful Scarves.

Feeling festive and Christmassy this week so here is an other idea: Emma J. Shipley beautiful Scarves. Emma, a former London College of Arts student, designs Scarves as Art Pieces. Her pencils draw nature and then give her patterns kind on a mathematical rythm. I like how subtle they are. Perfect for traveling in style, and who wouldn't like to hang out with a Gorilla or a Leopard?

You can find her Designs at Fenwick, Harvey Nichols UK, but also online on Giftlab.
Have a look at her website here.

I spy with my little eye... a Bloggers Reportage.

Have a look at Amna's reportage on our day at Garderobe, great pictures of a lovely day of fun!
Follow the link: Amna Atelier.

Thank you for the good times and memories!

I spy with my little eye... stylish Illustrations.

Can't afford a new pair of Louboutins? Have a sister who's obsessed with shoes? Have a look at Emma Kisstina's stylish illustrations. Louboutins and 2,55 (Gentlemen, this is the name of Chanel's iconic bag) for less than AED 87. Cute, chic and affordable, perfect while waiting for the real deal. Christmas is round the corner, just saying...
Mmmh, I've seen these Charlotte Olympia somewhere, haven't I?

Have a look at her Etsy page here.

I spy with my little eye... a Movie Night!

They are back! The XVA gallery is back with free movie nights, only they are relocated in their XVA Hotel in Bastakiyah. Come enjoy a nice drink, a look at their gorgeous jewellery and enjoy a peaceful evening in Dubai (I know, that sounds unbelievable but it does exist). First movie is tomorrow: The Birds, by Hitcock. Classic!

I spy with my little eye... a new Meeting of the DLBC.

I am looking forward to hosting my Ladies tonight for a new meeting of the DLBC (Dubai Ladies Book Club). My turn to host, my turn to chose the Book! And I went for "Girls of Ryiadh", by Rajaa Alsanea. Given the fact that I lived for 3 years in Ryiadh and that we are currently living in the Middle East, a local kind of chick flick made sense. It's probably the first one of this kind, written in arabic in 2005 and very controversial at the time, it was actually banned after it's release in Saudi Arabia. I will be honest and recognize that the style is not the greatest but the content is interesting. Family, honour, studies, forced mariages, love, children, men and women relationships explained through the journey of 4 young women trying to find their balance between modernity and tradition. Let's see what the Ladies thought of it...

I spy with my little eye... a Flowery Collection.

Have we talked about Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad's Skin Flower Fall/Winter 2012/2013 collection yet? 1950's inspired cuts, rich and delicate fabrics, thick Black, flamboyant Colours... Reminds me of my baroque years at Christian Lacroix. This collection is proof that you can wear flowers in Winter without looking like your Grandma's carpet.

I spy with my little eye... a pair of Charlotte Olympia!

Remember this post? Well Garderobe worked it's magic last week-end and these kitty cats are now in my closet! I can't believe I spent an hour wandering around the shop and didn't spot them until they were on the lovely Saanieh's feet. She's the one who spotted them for her shooting and it appears that we are conveniently the same size... I love those days when everything works out your way.

I spy with my little eye... a Bloggers Collaboration.

Have a look at Rebecca's Blog, she is sharing a few pictures of our amazing Day at Garderobe. The lovely Shamim shared a video, go have a look and sense the ambiance on a bloggers shooting... So-much-fun!
Love that last pic with the sweet Amna from Amna Atelier!
Thank you Rebecca!

I spy with my little eye... a Ladies Night.

My Ex Wardrobe event was such a treat yesterday! So good to catch up with Specsaddict, discovering Queen B's Christmas cards, complementary massages by The Cure, make up by the sweet Angelique, the Rivington legendary Cocktails and of course Shopping!
A big thank you to the Rowland Sisters for organising such a lovely event, so much energy and good vibes! And Merci to the Rivinton for hosting so much Oestrogen yesterday!

I spy with my little eye... the Shoe District Level at Dubai Mall.

Let me start by saying I am not particularly excited by Shoes. I like them, like any other Fashion item, but I don't have a passion for them for them (unlike my little sis' who has at least 70 pairs and is in her mid-twenties). I like my heels, but I am usually more into Bags. This is the reason why I didn't rush to see the Shoe District Level, but I will admit that if you are passionate about them or looking for a specific outfit, this place will make your life much easier (or complicated if you're on a budget). It's spacious, not too big, you won't get lost, organised by brand, a good way to get a quick look at the trends. My idea of Shoe Shopping!

And of course, I conveniently spotted a gorgeous pair of sparkly Kate Spade retro Heels. Maybe I am into Shoes after all...

I spy with my little eye... a Light Show.

Tonight if you are not heading to the Abu Dhabi Art Fair, or to the Madinat Jumeirah for the My Ex Wardrobe Event, if you feel like a quiet Night, pass by the Cuadro Gallery in DIFC to have a look at The Substance of Light exhibition. It features Artists who work around and with Light: Larry Bell,  Dan Flavin, Robert Irwin and James Turrell. A poetic show to welcome Winter smoothly.

More information on the show here.

I spy with my little eye... an Art Show.

If you are free tonight and looking for something arty, the Ayyam Gallery is opening a new Art Show at DIFC. It's called Silence, and it's a solo exhibition by the Syrian Artist Khaled Takreti. The concept is a serie of monochrome portraits, kind of silently observing the world. A very peaceful Show I should think but go and see for yourself.

More information on the Show here.

I spy with my little eye... behind the Scenes.

A few behind the scene pictures, good memories of the shooting at Garderobe last week-end. Looking forward to the pictures!

I spy with my little eye... a Fun Day!

If you are following HOB on Twitter, you've already got a glimpse of yesterday's fun day at Garderobe. Such a treat to get pampered, get to play dress up and meet fellow Bloggers! I went for a simple Blumarine black velvet cocktail dress... that was too big for me but nothing we couldn't fix with a pin, one of the many joys of thriftshopping: you can't always get your size. I paired it with a simple nude Jimmy Choo pair of sandals, got my make up done by Mikyajy, something simple yet that brought a little colour to my fair skin. The team had a vision of a loose side bun that turned out to be perfect and so amazingly quickly executed. Finding a location for the shooting was quite a fun part, I ended up on the stairs, on  my tip toe, such a laugh! The photographs were brilliant, full of ideas and patience.
I had an amazing time meeting other Bloggers, so much fun and style.
Thank you to the whole team, Garderobe, Mikyajy, the Hair Stylist, the photographs, lots of fun, good vibes and fashion inspiration!

Looking forward to the Photographs.
It was such a lucky day Garderobe worked it's magic and I found a pair of amazing shoes... stay tuned!
