Meet me on the roofs of Paris.

Yesterday evening.
Montmartre. Friends. Good french wine. Laughter. Art. Travel. Flirt.
That's the Paris I like!

In the streets of Paris.

"Let's go to the Hop" by the Danny and the Juniors - 1958

Regarding the Chateau de la Cote in Bourdeuille, well well well... We didn't even bother staying for the night. I think it says it all. Lovely staff, I have to give it to them, but we were supposed to stay in the guesthouse. I have absolutly nothing about guest houses, I love the fact that they give you more independence, but in this case it was a little buit too much independence: it was located at the entrance of the castle park, quite far from the main building, cheap room, mismatching details, lack of care.. just not for me. We stayed 10 minutes at the pool and decided to leave. No muss, no fuss.
I just took my sadest face, went to the reception and said my grandfather was feeling very sick so we had to leave instantly. Grandpa if you read me, I am glad you are alright, and enjoying your home. Thank you for being such a good alibi!
So instead of spending a night in a place we didn't really like, we just drove 4 hours and went straight to my family place in Albi, where my brother and his friends were happy to welcome us, and we had a great evening!
Life is a matter of priorities.

My stay in Brantôme was an absolut pleasure, the city is beautiful, we went for a lovely hike in the area, beautiful spot: kind of a Middle-Age Haven. The only thing is I will not specially recommand the B&B I stayed at . It was alright but pretty random. A few pictures...

A little update on my Tour de France.
The B&B in Saumur was exquisite, I highly recommand it (especially the King's Room). Charming scenery, lovely pool, warm owners... You now know how much I care about details, well everything was there: the luggage trolley, the cute dishes, the local bread, the caring smile, I will definitively be back!

How cosy is this Library? I love the idea of a closet turned into a Book Nook!

I completely fell for Oysho's new Collection and found the perfect shorts for my nights in french Countryside!

My way of visiting Museums.
Let me explain: as a Child my Father used to take us to every Modern Art Museum that would cross our Path. And I liked it. But, I liked it better when he took us to the Artists Studios! Between the colours, the pots of paint, the brushes, it was much more fun! So being used to seeing Paintings in their natural and lively environment, Museums looked very boring to me.
Even nowadays, I enjoy exhibitions and Museums, but I do not need Hours to go through them. I am quick and efficient... but I can stay for Hours in a Studio!

Holidays mean Picnics!
I am not a huge fan of picnics  at the Beach: I'd rather have my club-sandwich without a side of Sand, thank you. But Forests are the perfect place! Under a Tree, on a Blanket, it is Heaven. It reminds me of the days when my Father use to take my Siblings and I Mushroom Picking.

This little Treasure from (apparently) the 40's was found on a Flea Market.
I wouldn't swear on it's Authenticity but it made me smile.

You all know how much I love traveling, so you easily understand why I fell for this book:
Traveling in style. This is one of the things Jacky Kennedy did best, we all knew that. What I did not know is that her travels inspired a Watercolor Book.
Jascqueline Duheme was a french illustrator who got acquaited with Jacky Kennedy during John's presidency. She got invited at the White House and in Cape Cod, and later, was requested to accompagny the First Lady on her diplomatic visits in India, Pakistan, Italy... and took a real pleasure in illustratic these legendary moments. "Mrs Kennedy goes abroad" was publishe in 1998 and is a collection of these illustrations, the Portrait of an Icon.

Pictures scanned by a lovely being.
More details on the book here.
Yesterday we were near Bordeaux, at the Chateau de la Côte.
I will let you appreciate the Scenery.

"On dirait le Sud, le temps dure longtemps, et la vie surement, plus d'un million d'années... et toujours en été."

"One says that in the South time is longer, and life for sure more than a million years, and it's always summer."

Yesterday we drove from Paris to Saumur and spent the Night at La Croix Voulte. Lovely and charming B&B. I love the calm and the green environment! It really feels like Holidays.
