I spy with my little eye... an amazing Dinner at Table 9.

The Gentleman decide we should try Table 9, Nick Alvis and Scott Price, two former Gordon Ramse team member from the Claridges, so we did, and Boy what a nice Surprise!
Like every little Gem, it's kind of hidden, so we went to Deira, found the Hilton Dubai Creek and walked our way to the First Floor where a got a very smiley Welcoming. The Hotel looks quite old but the restaurant inside is very modern, minimalist, black and white, the Music was not too lound, that is extremely important: we could actually have a conversation. The staff was very sweet and caring, sharing a few jokes while being discreet at the same time. The Clientele was refined: Ladies night getting the tsting menu, Couples, Business Men, all very quiet, focused on the Food. I liked the projector showing the live work being done in the Kitchen. I love cooking so getting to see what's behind the scene was such a Treat!
The wine list is very complete and interesting, we went for a light fruity Red, unfortunately I can't remember exactly which one, all I can remeber is the Sommelier being surprised by our Choice and admitting it was the first time he tasted this particular Wine that had a nice Strawberry after taste.
The Food Menu are quite simple and straightforward (love that: quality rather than quantity), 2 tasting Menus, one regular, one vegetarian, or a la carte Entrees and Main Dishes. We went a la carte with Scallops, Pork Belly, Turbot, Strawberry Meringue and Cherry Bakewell. All very tasty, perfectly cooked, full of flavour but but overtaken by the spices, subtle, creative, not too small, not too big: I actually managed a Dessert.
I said it many times: Details are not just Details, well I was amazed by the Sweet Attention that came at the end of the Dinner: home made Sweets for both of us, what a nice Touch.
Thank you Table 9 for a delicious evening, we felt at home.

  1. I went a few weeks ago and also had the turbot and pork (and the guinea fowl, quinoa and salmon). I want more of those takeaway sweets!
